Cadillac CTS

The Cadillac CTS was released in 2002 based on the rear-wheel drive GM Sigma platform. This was GM’s first manual transmission vehicle to be released since 1988. The CTS was inspired by a Cadillac concept know as the Evoq in the 1999 Detroit Auto Show. The models up to the 2004 model year featured a 3.2 L LA3 V6 putting out 220 horsepower.

About The Engine (Specifications and Horsepower)

In 2004 the engine was upgraded to a 3.6 L DOHC V6 which put out 255 hp and 252 lbs of torque.

In 2005 the engine was changed to a 2.8 L version of the DOHC V6 engine which delivered 210 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 194 lb of torque at 3200 rpm.

Replacement For The Catera

GM originally launched the CTS to replace the Cadillac Catera. The CTS can be credited to reviving the car’s popularity. Especially with a younger crowd, where other car manufacturers such as Lexus and Mercedes-Benz were getting more attention.

The 2008 base model features a 3.6-liter variable valve timing V6 engine that can yield 263 hp and 252 lb of torque.
